Many actors from Indian film industries have spoken out about their "casting couch" experiences and Minissha Lamba is the latest one. For those who aren't aware, the "casting couch" is a term used to describe an incident when a person in power offers work, promotions or other benefits in return for sexual favours. Neena Gupta had also recently spoken about her horror story with a producer who expected her to sleep with him for work. Now, in an interview, Minissha Lamba has said that she has faced the casting couch a few times and managed to handle it by insisting that meetings be held in offices and ignoring the insinuations.
“I think in any industry where there are men, a lot of men are going to try. This industry is not any different. I definitely have faced things like the person not confirming for the film and saying, ‘Why don’t you meet for dinner? Let’s talk.’ And I am like, ‘No, why don’t we meet in the office? I don’t know about dinner but I am definitely free, we can set up a time and meet in the office tomorrow, if you want to discuss further.’ I have handled it like that. It has not happened much to me to my face. But whenever it has happened, I have handled it in a way where I have pretended not to understand what you are saying," she said in an interview with a popular radio host.
Minissha Lamba went on to reveal that there have been times when she hasn't heard back from people because she did not give in to their propositions. She has acted in films like Yahaan, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd and Bachna Ae Haseeno.
