BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Boise Airport are teaming up to offer a week-long opportunity to sign up for speedier check-in at the airport.
The TSA is encouraging local residents to enroll in the TSA 's Precheck program at a temporary mobile enrollment center at the Boise Airport from May 7 - 11.
Many airports around the country have a permanent Precheck enrollment site.
But Boise does not so the TSA brings in a mobile center from time to time for convenience.
The enrollment center will be set up on the first floor of the airport on the baggage claim level, near baggage carousel #1.
It opens Monday, May 7 and will remain open through Friday, May 11. The hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Friday, the hours are 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Boise Airport is located at 3201 W. Airport Way.
Precheck allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and travel-size liquids and gels in their carry-on bag during the security checkpoint screening process.
You will need to complete the enrollment process in-person at the Boise Airport May 7 -11. Applicants must bring a current U.S. passport or a driver license and certified copy of a birth certificate and fingerprints will be collected during the in-person session.
The application fee is $85 and Trusted Traveler status is good for five years. It can be paid at the time of your appointment by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier's check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted. Walk-ins are permitted and will be accommodated around scheduled appointments.
The process to make an appointment begins online at www.tsa.gov/precheck. Click on the words "Start Application Now" to begin the enrollment process. Select "Boise Airport" as the enrollment center location.
