Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson first found fame making Minecraft videos with his friends on YouTube at a young age. Then, with those same friends, his content progressed to challenge videos where he gave away vast sums of money to the winners of those challenges. Now, MrBeast is taking on streamer Richard ‘Ninja’ Blevins in League of Legends.

The showdown was first teased on June 20, when MrBeast tweeted “big announcement tomorrow,” following by mentioning Ninja and declaring “ur trash kid.” The “big announcement” is that MrBeast and two friends will be facing off against Ninja and his hand-picked team in a best of three League of Legends match.

“Ninja has accepted my offer,” MrBeast says in another tweet. “$150,000 League of Legends best of 3 match, we’ll announce our teams soon.” While who MrBeast and Ninja’s teammates are is still a mystery, we’re excited to find out who they choose to bolster out their League of Legends roster and what characters they will pick.

The match-up is set to take place on July 9 at 4-7 pm PST and will be streamed live on Twitch’s Crown channel. MrBeast and Ninja will duking it out in-person at the HyperX Arena in the Luxor hotel and casino in Las Vegas.

Last year, MrBeast stated that he wanted to get a League of Legends team up and running within two years, and this match-up with Ninja seems to be an interesting precursor that is giving him the opportunity to test the murky League of Legends waters.
